5letterwordss.com is an independent 5 letter word finder for Wordle, Scrabble, crosswords and other word games. It's built for one job: helping you find the right word quickly, without pop-ups or sign-ups getting in the way.

What makes this site different

• Common words first. Every list separates everyday words from rare ones, so likely Wordle answers are at the top instead of buried among obscure words.
• One word list, consistent numbers. All 12,570 five-letter words and every count on the site come from the same list, so the numbers always agree from page to page.
• Real Wordle logic. The finder understands "this letter is in the word, but not in this spot", and suggests the guess that rules out the most answers.
• Our own data. Rankings like the best starting words are calculated from our word list, not copied from elsewhere.

Where the words come from

We combine an open-source word-game dictionary, word-frequency data and the WordNet dictionary. Plurals are marked, and offensive words are kept out of the common lists and examples. Read the full details.
